For those looking for a real life Japanese ski experience then Nozawa offers just that. Nozawa has been a hot spring mecca for over a thousand years and has been a skiing centre for around 200 years. It offers big mountain resort-style skiing, complimented by the wonderful charms and vibrant character of an authentic and traditional Japanese ski village, located right at the base of the resort. This combined with the wonderful hospitality of the local villagers makes for a great ambience and a refreshingly new & exciting ski holiday.After a day on the slopes, take a dip in one of the natural hot springs and soak up the traditional atmosphere.

From Narita Airport
Passengers travelling from Narita Airport board the Narita Express to Tokyo Station. Travelling time approx. 1 hour.
From 14 March 2015, the Nagano/Hokuriku Shinkansen will be extended from Nagano to Kanazawa and will newly stop at Iyama Station not far from Nozawa Onsen, improving the access situation.
Departing from Tokyo Station to Nagano passengers board the Nagano Bullet Train (Asama Shinkansen) frequent departures throughout the day. Travelling time approx. 90 minutes
Take the JR Iiyama Line from Nagano Station to Togari Nozawa Onsen Station takes approx. 65 minutes, operates hourly , and change to a bus bound for Nozawa Onsen (15 minutes, 300 yen one way, 8-9 round trips per day). Almost all buses connected to train arrival times.
Alternatively, you could get off the train at Iiyama Station (55 minutes, 580 yen one way, hourly departures) and catch a bus to Nozawa from there (40 minutes, 700 yen one way, 10-12 round trips per day), but note that the timing between trains and buses along this route is not always convenient.
Nagaden operates direct buses six times a day between Nagano Station bus stop No.4 and the Nozawa Onsen Chuo Bus Terminal (75 minutes, 1500 yen one way).
By direct highway bus from Narita Airport
During winter, one round trip per day is operating between Narita Airport and Myoko Kogen. The one way trip takes about six hours.
